Through the Petroleum Development Act, 1995, PETRONAS which is  entrusted to  develop  them.  For this  PETRONAS, enters  into   Production   sharing   Agreements   with  other petroleum   companies,   which   explore,   and  develop  the resources. As of 31 December 1999,  the   main   Petroleum companies   which   had   entered  into  Production   Sharing Contracts with PETRONAS were:
