The players in the energy sector (i.e electricity supply industry and gas supply industry at the reticulation stage) in Malaysia are as follows: -

1. The Government which acts as a policy maker;
2. Energy Commission which acts as the regulator;
3. Energy Supply and Service Companies;
4. Research and Development Institutions; and
5. Consumers
