Implementation of Electricity Supply Projects in Sabah Under the 9th Malaysia Plan
The responsibility to monitor the implementation of electricity supply projects in Sabah was undertaken by the Energy Supply Division when the SEB was dissolved administratively on 1 December 2005. These projects are divided into two categories, which are Sabah Electricity Supply Infrastructure Projects and Sabah Grid System Projects. The list of Sabah
Electricity Supply Infrastructure Project are as follows :
- 132kV Transmission Line System Environmentally-Friendly Project,
- Delivery System Upgrading Projects in Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan and Tawau;
- Delivery System Reinforcement Project throughout Sabah and WP Labuan;
- Kota Kinabalu Delivery System Reinforcement Project; and
- KK Outer Ring 132kV Project.
These projects were started in 2006 and expected to be completed in 2009. The Energy Supply Division is continuously monitoring the projects. For the Sabah Grid System Project, the meeting of the Special Committee for the Implementation of the East-West Transmission Grid Interconnection Project has been convened twice. As of November 2006, the project is 96 percent completed.
